Pendant les mois silencieux de la Corona en 2020, Joris Wouters a construit un tout nouveau violoncelle. Dans l'instrument, il écrit: "Cet instrument est destiné à rendre le monde meilleur…". Wouters fait don de cet instrument de manière désintéressée à la communauté «pour un monde meilleur».

MISE À JOUR: Le 18 février 2021, le violoncelle sera mis aux enchères avec un certain nombre d'autres œuvres d'art et concerts. Plus d'infos, voir cette invitation.
Le violoncelle peut être vu / joué / écouté sur rendez-vous à Bernaerts, du 14/12 au 14/02 (rendez-vous pour cela via ilse@bernaerts.be)

Avec les bénéfices, le projet Cello for Charity veut montrer son soutien et contribuer aux artistes gravement touchés par la crise corona. Ils n'ont pas besoin de charité, mais ils ont juste besoin de soutien dans leur existence d'artiste indépendant. La charité, comprise comme solidarité, j'ose demander à ceux qui souffrent le moins de cette crise.

«C'est avec la pleine conviction que je soutiens l'initiative Cello for Charity. Les instruments nouvellement construits sont une alternative plus que valable aux anciens très chers italiens. J'ai joué tous mes enregistrements CD pour le label Harmonia Mundi sur un instrument qui a maintenant 28 ans. Lorsque Joris Wouters m'a informé qu'il souhaitait faire don d'un nouveau violoncelle à Cello for Charity, je n'ai pas hésité un instant à soutenir ce projet. Après tout, Joris Wouters est l'un des meilleurs luthiers que j'ai rencontrés dans le monde. Merci de soutenir ce projet avec moi. Pour la répartition des revenus, nous faisons appel à l'asbl ArtistsUnited, presque la seule organisation du secteur à se concentrer sur les musiciens classiques. Une plus petite partie des revenus va également à une académie de musique à Mosoul (Irak) par l'intermédiaire du journaliste Rudi Vranckx. "(Roel Dieltiens, violoncelliste)

  • Faites un don d'instruments, de manuscrits, de partitions, d'œuvres d'art et de souvenirs sur le thème de la musique.
  • Enchérissez sur l'une des œuvres susmentionnées lors de la vente aux enchères en direct ou en ligne du 18 février 2021, 20h à Veilinghuis Bernaerts (Anvers)
  • Réservez ou assistez à un concert-bénéfice
  • Agissez avec votre académie de musique, votre association ou votre entreprise

Dear all,

During the quiet corona period in 2020, Joris Wouters built a brand new cello. On a label on the inside of the instrument he wrote: ‘This instrument is meant to make the world sound better ….’.  Wouters is donating this instrument to society 'for a better world'. 
UPDATE: On the 18th of February 2021 the instrument will be sold at an action, together with various other art pieces and concerts. More info, see this invitation.
The cello can be viewed / played / listened to by appointment at Bernaerts, from 14/12 to 14/02 (you can make an appointment via ilse@bernaerts.be)

"Cello for Charity wants use the proceeds to offer their support and aid mostly classical musicians that greatly suffer from this crisis. They don’t need charity, but support in their profession as independent musicians. Charity, or solidarity, we do ask from those who have not been greatly affected by this crisis.
It is with full conviction that I support the initiative Cello for Charity.
Newly-built instruments are a more than adequate alternative for highly expensive, old Italian ones.
All my CDs for the Harmonia Mundi - label were recorded playing a now 28 year old instrument. When Joris Wouters told me he wanted to donate a cello to Cello for Charity, I didn't hesitate for a second to join the project. After all, Joris Wouters is one of the best luthiers that I have ever met worldwide.  
To divide the proceeds, this project partners with ArtistsUnited vzw, the only organization in this industry who focuses on classical musicians. A smaller part will go to a music school in Mosoul (Irak), through journalist Rudi Vranckx."
